Glossop

 

John James Glossop (c1807) Wadworth, Doncaster, in 1833 directory, listed as a farmer. In 1837, John James Glossop obtained a Gamekeepers license. He was executors of the will of Martha Pearson - heiress of Martha Clarke of Laughton-en-le-Morthen

William H. Glossop was born in 1841 at Brampton en le Morthen, a farmer, maltster and factor, in 1881 he was farming 206 Acres, at Woodlaithes, Bramley, employing 5 Men & 3 Boys.

He was married to Alice who was born in 1850 in Staffordshire. They had a daughter Mary S. who was born at Woodlathes in 1879.

Jeremiah Coe, shepherd aged 51, George Scales agricultural labourer aged 16 and Robert Jackson aged 18 , Groom, lived with the family.
