Probably a connection with a William Goodwin yeoman, of Little Longstone, Derbyshire, and wife Mary, living in 1787. It was recorded in 1829, that William Goodwin had lived in Ridge Flatts, Little Longstone for 42 years. In 1828 his land was sold to James Longsdon
