Mary Roger of Treeton m. JOHN GRATTON 21 NOV 1755 at Handsworth

 

The Gratton family were in Thorpe Salvin as early as 06 01 1780 when George Gratton was buried after being 'Killed by accident'. John and Elizabeth were at Thorpe Salvin in the early 1850's

The family were also to be found in Firbeck and Throapham.

George Gratton aged 70 was buried 21 12 1873 Laughton-en-le-Morthen

George Gratton aged 47 was buried 25 06 1877 Laughton-en-le-Morthen

George and Ann Gratton had 3 children baptised at Harthill from 1872 to 1879

Children of George, a labourer and Harriet Gratton of Laughton-en-le-Morthen, baptised at Laughton:

By 1881 George had died and Harriett and family were living at Church Corner Laughton-en-le-Morthen

Mary Gratton, a spinster had a daughter Sarah Ann c.24 04 1879 also at Laughton-en-le-Morthen

In 1891, Henry Gratton, aged 19 was employed as a Farm Servant, and living with the White family at Brampton-en-le-Morthen . Henry was born at Laughton-en-le-Morthen.

From about 1904 Fred Gratton, a labourer, and his wife Alice were at living at cottages at Ulley Beeches.

On 21 06 1905 Sissy GRATTON aged 15 months of Ulley Beeches, was buried at Laughton-en-le-Morthen and on 21 04 1906 Harold GRATTON aged 10 months of Ulley Beeches was buried at Laughton-en-le-Morthen.

 

In 1942, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gratton of Treeton were present at the funeral of Mrs. Hannah Skelton
