Ulley or Brampton Ulley, is a township partly in Treeton parish, and partly in Aston-with-Aughton parish, in Rotherham Union. The area is 850 acres, and the population, in 1851, was 182 (whereof 39 were in Aston). Ulley is 3 miles north-east of Woodhouse station. Turnshaw Quarry is to the south. Sir Charles Wood is lord of the manor. Brampton-en-le-Morthen is a village, township and manor in Treeton parish, 4 miles north-east of Woodhouse station. The area is 1090 acres, and the population, in 1851, was 134.
