Farming families in Ulley
There are currently four farming families in the village, the Longford's, Lovely's, Mozley's and Walkers. A century ago there were three times that many.
The Walker family have farmed at Ulley ,Ulley Beeches & Brampton for 80 years. John Revil Walker, known as Jack was the son of Walter Walker born in 1875 at Treeton.
Walter Walker, an agricultural labourer, married Mary E. Revill, known as Polly, at Treeton on 14th November, 1899. At some stage they moved to Ulley. Mary Revill was from a farming family. Walter died on 31st August, 1953 and was buried at Ulley cemetery.
