Roman Road

Excavations at the rear of Church View, Ulley discovered of a probable Roman road aligned north to south and 16ft wide by 1-2 ft deep.

Medieval Chapel

I understand that the Mediaeval chapel at Ulley was excavated 1957-9 by Dorothy Greene, but details have not been published

Enclosure

Cropmark of an irregularly shaped enclosure defined by a single ditch. Date uncertain. Field between Stoket Lane and motorway.

Roman coins found in 1953 and 1965 near Main Street.

Fragment of Samian ware found 1956. Adjacent to Carr Lane.

Medieval Cross

Remains of Medieval Cross (probably wayside) possibly not in situ. Corner of Morthen Hall Lane, where it joins York Lane.
